The NITI Aayog on December 19, 2018 released ‘Strategy for New India @75’, its comprehensive national Strategy for New India which defines clear objectives for 2022-23. The Strategy was released by the Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.

Researchers from JAXA and the University of Tokyo have detected evidence of water in 17 asteroids for the first time using data from the infrared satellite AKARI. They found that water is retained in asteroids as hydrated minerals, which were produced by chemical reactions of water and anhydrous rocks that occurred inside the asteroids.

President’s rule came into force in Jammu Kashmir from the midnight of December 20, 2018, following the expiry of the six-month-long governor’s rule.
